The TIVAX STB-T9 FRAUD
It looks innocent enough...
...about like most Digital TV Converter Boxes. But the Tivax STB-T9 and remote control are anything but!

Certified for using a $40 Converter Box Coupon at time of purchase, the Tivax STB-T9 costs more than most... but poor faceplate design limits its operation. We suspected something might be up with this one when we read the "MUST READ" flyer (reproduced above) on top of its box.
Next we found a "Tivax.com" tag pasted over "Made in China" on its case. Once powered up, the screen flashed then locked up. Nothing remedied this problem except cutting the power. Once powered-up again, it locked-up again! Until we held its remote control on its face plate while powering it up. We selected OKAY, given that was the only choice, then waited, and waited for something else to happen. It scanned our antenna then informed us, minutes later, that 6 channels were available of 26 tuned by our signal Control Box during the test. Tivax STB-T9's signal was NOT even as clear as cable! Its response to box buttons pressed or Remote Control selection was weak. So, after a long shut-down, we resolved to warn you first: THIS ONE'S NOT WORTH YOUR TIME.
